TWO MAJOR PORT GROUPS IN TIANJIN AND ZHEJIANG SIGNED A COMPREHENSIVE STRATEGIC COOPERATION FRAMEWORK AGREEMENT
On May 11, 2020, Tianjin Port Group (天津港集團) (the Controlling Shareholder of Tianjin Port Development Holdings Limited, which holds 53.5% equity interest of the Company) and Zhejiang Seaport Group (浙江省海港集團) signed the "Comprehensive Strategic Cooperation Framework Agreement of World-Class Ports". The two parties will make use of their respective geographical advantages and resource advantages, implement the national strategies, such as the “Belt and Road” construction, the Yangtze River Economic Belt Development, and the integrated and quality development of the Yangtze River Delta, with an aim to promote the safe, convenient, intelligent, green, economically efficient world-class ports.
According to the agreement, the two parties will strengthen cooperation in various aspects, such as intelligent green ports, logistics services, and talent training, in order to accelerate the construction of world-class ports, elevate the quality development of the port, strengthen the port’s role in contributing to the country's economic development, protecting the foreign trade industry chain and promoting smooth operation of supply chain, so as to provide the port solutions to better serve the major national strategies. The two parties will also establish the visit and communication mechanism of senior management to facilitate negotiation on major issues in cooperation, and at the same time, establish a daily work contact mechanism to promote specific tasks, such as the implementation of strategic agreements between the two parties.
Mao Jianhong, Party Secretary and Chairman of Zhejiang Seaport Group and Ningbo-Zhoushan Port Group, Chu Bin, Party Secretary and Chairman of Tianjin Port Group and the Board Chairman of Tianjin Port Development Holdings Limited, Luo Xunjie, Vice President of Tianjin Port Group and Managing Director of Tianjin Port Development Holdings Limited, Liu Qingshun, Vice President of Tianjin Port Group and Vice Chairman of Tianjin Port Holdings Co., Ltd., and other senior management of Tianjin Port Group including Huang Qi, Wang Honghai, Xu Xubo, Yu Jia attended the signing ceremony.
